Is your website slow?

Is your website slow?
Do the images take a long time to load?
Do you get bored waiting for the content to display?

Any of these sound familiar?

If yes then you need to take a look at your website – straight away!

There are 2 main reasons why your website might be slow:

  1. Your images are HUGE
  2. Your hosting company server is s-l-o-w

How can you find out which is your problem?

If you click on one of your images and click “view image” and then “properties” (this is via your website) and see what the size in KB of that image is

Typically you would want your images to be way under 200KB – most images should be in the 50kb region.

If your images are much large than that – then that will be a big part of why your site is slow to load.

What do you do now?

Speak to your web designer and get them to redo your images – or resize the images yourself.

If your images are a small KB in size then it could be your hosting company is slow – give them a call or drop them an email and ask them if there is a reason why your website is slow.

If they don’t give you a good answer or it doesn’t speed up then I would suggest that you look at a new hosting company.
