Design can mean many things – for me the design aspect means the design of your company logo – your brand. Then tying that logo into a website look and feel (or design). Then maybe matching your email signature, your tshirts, your business cards or letterheads, invoices to match too or maybe something to attach to your car or van… It all adds up to your company brand and the original design.
Logo Design
Your new look and brand is key! Whilst we are not a marketing company we can supply you with smart and fun logo designs that you can choose from. Our aim is that you only get the perfect logo – the one you want! We keep going until we get there.
How does it work?
Designing a logo is not a simple process but we do it by getting to know you and your business, as your logo should talk to you about you. Some of the questions we ask and you need to ask yourself are:
- What is your favourite colour?
- What colours do you dislike?
- What style are you looking for chic, stylish, contemporay, traditional, warm …
- What other logos do you like (this is to give us a better example to the question above)
- Do you want an icon with your logo? or just text?
- Do you have a strapline or tagline for your logo?
- Where will you use your logo – printed and online?
These answers give us a better understanding of what you need, from that we create samples, you comment on the samples – being as constructive or critical as you like – seriously we mean that last bit! Our shoulders are broad and we want to ensure you get what you want – therefore be bold, be strong and tell us what you really think!
We then make the changes according to your comments and around the loop goes until you say STOP that’s perfect!
You can see some of the logos that I have designed over in my Logo portfolio. There are other options though – there are websites that will allow you to place an ad and get designers sending various logo designs in – it has its benefits in that you might get 10 designers all working on your logo – giving a huge variety of styles etc. There are a number of pitfalls to avoid with this route however – so ask me and I can help.
Layout Design – how your website will look
This is what the website will look like once online, we ask the same questions (if we didn’t already do your logo design). We also ask a few more questions like:
- Who are your competitors?
- What navigation or content will you have on your site?
- Will your site change and grown over time or stay still?
- What other websites do you like? or maybe don’t like
- Do you want to update the website yourself?
And again we create samples, you comment on the samples – being as constructive or critical as you like – seriously we mean that last bit! Our shoulders are still broad and we want to ensure you get what you want – therefore be bold, be strong and tell us what you really think!
We then make the changes according to your comments and around the loop goes until you say STOP that’s perfect!
I call it the WOW effect – we keep going until you say WOW that’s it! Now how soon can you that go live!??
You can again see by looking at my portfolio all the different types of website layout design we create – each one tailored to that individual business.
